ASI Executive Board to Meet in Denver
February 24, 2017

The executive board of the American Sheep Industry Association will gather in Denver next week for its first quarterly meeting of the year. The top agenda item will be the appointment of ASI council and committee members put forth by state industry leaders.

"States have submitted a wide-range of producer nominations to be considered for the councils and committees," commented ASI Executive Director Peter Orwick. "The association president will appoint over 200 volunteer leaders this month to 10 councils and committees to fulfill the mission of this sheep-producer driven organization. Every region of the country and size and focus of sheep operation will be represented in this large leadership group."

Council and committee members are instrumental in working for sheep producers by recommending and implementing policy and overview of ASI programs for the industry. Membership is voluntary and appointments are one-year terms.
