Volunteer Leaders Sought for ASI Councils
February 1, 2013
The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) is accepting nominations for members to its councils and committees for the upcoming year. Council and committee members are instrumental in working for sheep producers by recommending and setting policy that designates direction for the industry. ASI has five councils with many related committees. The councils include wool, lamb, legislative, producer education and research and resource management.
Council and committee memberships are voluntary and are appointed for terms of one year. Anyone interested in being nominated to a council or committee should contact your state sheep producer association for submission to ASI. Nominations can also be forwarded to ASI officers, regional executive board members or to Peter Orwick, email@example.com, at the ASI office.
The executive board will be meeting the last week of February, to finalize appointments, therefore, all nominations should to be submitted on or before Friday, Feb. 15, to be considered.
The heart and soul of ASI are the individuals who volunteer a portion of their time and energy to work on behalf of the industry. ASI is an organization for producers, run by producers!
